I first started playing Texas Hold Em after i had watched late night poker on channel 4 a few times and thought it looked cool. I then surfed the net, signed up and started playing some £5 sit n go's and loved it. I invited my mate Allan round one night to play and before you knew it we were both hooked. I then packed my bags and headed to university and that meant a bit more free time, so obviously I had to study hard...& I did. Not structural design and analysis or fluid mechanics but Super System by Doyle Brunson & Mike Caro's book of Tells!!
Being at uni had another advantage..nearby casino's (plus hot girls & cheap drink but that's another websites worth!). After doing pretty well at the casino's and online I started to record my results..everybody thinks they are a winner & I wanted to be sure I was. Moved house, new set up in the attic and many an hour was spent up there studying other players, multi tabling and learning the ropes. Soon, i had a few quid and decided to see how long the poker winnings would last so gave up working.
A year and a half later i moved back up north and was back grinding it out like the rest of the working suckers.
